How I Guide Planning & Implementation

Before I work with the planning team, I meet with the leader to discuss:

  • Tailoring the Strategic Planning process to your needs
  • What we can use that presently exists
  • Who should be involved, the commitment required and their concerns 
  • The current level of understanding of Systems Thinking and our Systems Thinking Approach to Strategic Planning
  • How we can best work together
When facilitating planning sessions:

  • I keep the discussions moving towards agreed upon outcomes 
  • I ensure the participation of the entire planning team
  • I bring in expertise and ideas from working with other teams, organizations and industries; researching new concepts; and my business, technical and human resources background
  • I ask for regular feedback from the leader and planning team
  • I use appropriate humor and processes and respect confidential information
After the plans are created I could:
  • Facilitate regular monitoring & change management sessions and other meetings 
  • Assist cascading the plans down to other levels in the organization
  • Help integrate the plans into processes like performance appraisals, hiring, orientation, 360/upward appraisals, competencies, decision making and meetings
  • Assist with understanding and managing change in the organization
  • Train and coach to maintain the commitment for implementating the plan
